ABSA BANK

Could you please please maintain your ABSA ATM in Bayside Mall, Table View?  I was attempting to bank my Birthday Cheque in your ATM here yesterday and the machine froze up with my ABSA ATM card inside it! I tried pushing the cancel key and was in a state of panic until the machine finally accepted cancel the fiftfh time I pushed the key!  the machine spewed out my card and did a reset!  poor maintenance of your machines!!!

A big thank you from me to ABSA customer services for replying to this post I posted on my blog.  Amazing I never sent this on to them but they saw this post on my blog!  They will apparently investigate the matter.

Woolworths - Why does Woolworths not put prices on all their items - IT IS THE CONSUMER LAW IN SOUTH AFRICA

Yesterday there was a man in the Paddocks branch of Woolworths who was a little peeved that Woolies had no price on their strawberries, nor on the shelf they were on!  He never bought any from you in the end, but went to Spar instead.  You lost out on a sale woolies by not pricing things correctly!

Durbanville Hills

Yesterday  my mom, her two friends from England and I had lunch at Durbanville Hills to celebrate my mom's Birthday.  It is an amazing setting with a wonderful view. The restaurant is upstairs and takes best advantage of the stunning views from up there.  From one side you can see the sea and all the ways to Table Mountain, on the other side of the restaurant is a stupendous view of the surrounding Durbanville hills.
One of us ordered a starter of the crumbed oysters wrapped in Parma Ham, unfortunately the taste of the oysters was lost in the saltiness of the Parma Ham. My mom and I had a starter salad which was ok.
For the main course two of us ordered a medium fillet steak which was served very rare.  I did enjoy it, it was vey tasty but I usually prefer my meat cooked and no blood on my plate!
My mom and her friend had the spicy Chicken Supreme.  It was not what they were expecting, it was two pieces of chicken with no sauce.  The accompanying potatoes on our dishes were tasty.
The waiter was friendly and polite.
I liked my dessert and the coffee was good.
All in all my rating of this dining experience gets a 6/10.

Vida e Cafe

I had two good toasted chicken sandwiches and a Cafe late at Vida eCafe in Bayside today.

8/10 for service and  quality of their coffee.  6/10 for their toasted mayo sandwich from me. Well Done.

a recent complaint I received - oh no not good!

I am writing this to explain the horrible experience that I faced because of your staff at Indira Gandhi international airport India. I planned to travel India via KLM Royal Dutch KL871 flight on May 27 with ticket no ** and reservation code ** with my two kids from Toronto Pearson YYZ. At the Toronto airport, staff inquired me if I wanted to take my hand baggage with me to the cabin or wanted to check it in with the other 23 kg bags. I agreed to check in my hand baggage with the big suitcases so I did not need to worry about carrying them with me.
Now all of my baggage were according to the standard measurements as explained on your site. I had no problem in check in from Toronto to India. Problem started when I was returning back to Canada on June 27, 2016 from Delhi. We took the same flight KLM ROYAL DUTCH AIR LINES KL872 and I had the same luggage with me as I had when I took off from Canada to India.
When I went to check in at Indira Gandhi airport, I found that the staff was very rude and non-cooperative with the passengers. They said that I could not carry these hand baggage in cabin as these were oversized. I told them that these bags were under measurement (25 pounds and 43 inches) and they could measure it with the measurement tape. She said they had no time to measure it. This is weird for the same flight taking off at different airports and following different policies.
The staff member also said, "Policies are different at different stations for the same flight." We were shocked to hear that. She said not to argue with her and if I have to travel then l have to pay $180 for two bags to be checked in. I told her that I was not carrying that much money at the moment. And she replied back and said, "Either pay or miss the flight." I felt being harassed by the staff. I was traveling alone with my kids and had no contact with the family at that time as I did not have any cellphones on me. I was scared and was feeling helpless. I did not want to miss the flight and did not want to spend $180 which I didn't have anyways at that time.
After a while, one passenger who was also traveling in the same flight with us guided me and said that I should wrap two handbags into one baggage and pay for one bag instead for two. He said that I have to pay anyways so why not pay less? I asked the staff person and she said yes. Thus, I end up paying Rs.350 to wrap my luggage and another 4760 rupees ($90) with receipt no **, dated June 27.2016 to get my baggage checked in. I also checked online and found that the fees for extra baggage is $75 CAD not $90. That means she could have checked in my handbags but she forced me to pay or miss the flight.
Also, I want to draw your attention on another incident. At the same time when the same staff member was harassing me, she was doing the same thing with one other family. She forced them to pay extra money for hand baggage. She was telling them that their handbag and laptop bags all in together should weigh 12 kg. As I know laptop bags are never counted in as baggage to pay. She also instructed other staff member to not give boarding passes to that family until they pay that extra money. I witnessed that the other family was even ready to take their tickets back and miss the flight because of the behaviour of that particular staff member. They were even ready to have hand to hand fight with that staff member. Their kids were so afraid to see all that. In the end, that family also ended up paying extra money.
Unfortunately, I forgot to get the name of that staff member. Time was passing by and we had to get in the plane on time by passing through immigration and security line in one hour. However, your record can tell you the name of the staff person that was working that day. This incident has led me to never choose KLM airlines for future destinations and would recommend my friends and family to not take it because of their rude behaviour and non-cooperativeness. This is one complete issue of harassment. I would appreciate if you can look into this matter and take strict actions against that particular staff member.

Complaint of St. Elmo's pizza by Warren Mann

So I order a Regina pizza with extra cooked tomatoes and this is what comes out!!! Take into account you they charged me for the price of a bag of tomatoes for the extra. Raw and approximately a quarter tomato! That's what St Elmo's thinks is acceptable.

Melanie Leader  5 starI ordered 2 packs of Chocolate hot cross buns on Friday to collect on Saturday. when I went to collect them they hadn't made the chocolate so I ordered again for Sunday and was promised they wouldn't let me down again. Unfortunately the night staff hadn't made any again. I complained and the manager Jaydee was fantastic. He not only sourced the buns, fetched them from Sunningdale but delivered them to my house in Melkbos and gave them to me free of charge.
Thank you Jaydee, great job! you restored my faith in our local stores service. Much appreciated!!

Months ago I got a complaint from a lady in England regarding the parking service at Gatwick Airport.
I did not completely understand her e-mail to my heroawards.blogspot.com mail.
Sky news clarified what she must have been complaining about, on their news report today.
Apparently parking is dire at LGW.  There  is a parking service that parks cars for you, if the car park is full.  Apparently they park your car on their parking lot but leave you car keys in the boot of your car!?!
Bad, bad, bad! Where is the security you pay for their "safe car parking"  service????
Last time I flew into LGW was in 1995 and my sister and I used the Gatwick Express.  - safer than using this car parking service?!?

On the Rocks restaurant in Bloubergstrand get this weeks shocking service award



Yesterday my mom, two of her friends and I   went here for lunch.  It took half an hour before we had our order taken and they had hardly any restaurant patrons and only 4 waitrons!  When it was time for the bill we waited another half hour for them to produce their hand written bill as their computer was not working.  Get it right!

Nedbank Bayside get our disgusting service of the week award.

I bank with ABSA bank and not with your 
bank thank God.  ABSA offer great service!  I stood in a queue at your Bayside branch for half an hour while paying my mom's bill!  3 tellers on but all your valued customers had to bank inside your bank branch today as the ATM was apparently f#cked according to your branch manager who only spoke to us when we started a conversation about how sh@ty your bank is.Just get it right!
